"Confession" by Alex Kirk

Today Alex continued our series "A Blueprint for Prayer" and the focus is on “Confession.”

Our passage for the morning was Psalm 32.

Confession is not about guilt or manipulation. Confession is a gift and a doorway to thousands of gifts. Confession results in forgiveness and reconciliation with God.

During his message, Alex share about The Vicious Cycle: temptation - sin - cover up - consequences (relational, emotional and spiritual death) - confession - forgiveness - blessed life - temptation.

Blueprint for Confession:

1. Open ourselves to genuine conviction
2. Simply and clearly acknowledge our sins
3. Turn from our sins
4. Open up for a moment of reflection
5. Acknowledge and receive forgiveness
6. Do any “horizontal work” necessary

Questions to ponder and share:

• Why and how do we forgive ourselves?
• Is God’s forgiveness enough?
