Along with elders, the New Testament establishes the office of deacon in God’s plan for the leaders who lovingly serve the local church.  Deacons serve and lead the various ministries of the church under the guidance of the elders.  Please pray for and encourage these men and women as they love others and make ministry happen.

Betty Davis

Congregational Care

Betty leads the Congregational Care ministry, finding volunteers to help those in need. She has retired from a 30 year career in health care and is a graduate from Forsyth Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Gardening and cooking are her hobbies. She and her husband Wade have two children and two grandchildren.



Pat Rowe



Pat leads the church administration ministry and also helps out with the first impressions ministry. He is a graduate of the University Of North Carolina and is married to Linda. He and Linda have two children. He is a avid grandfather and enjoys spending time with his two grandchildren.



Mark & Michelle Stith


Mark, Michelle and their musical family lead the worship ministry. Mark and Michelle both attended the University Of North Carolina. Mark is a small business owner and Michelle home schools their children. Mark and Michelle have five children. 


Cynthia Dekaney

Chatham Kids

Cynthia grew up in California and Texas and graduated from Texas A&M. She has worked in special education and in a preschool. Together, she and Chris have five children and live in Silk Hope.



Jamey Terrell


Jamey manages the church's finances. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina and is married to Carol. Jamey and Carol have three children.


Gin Ayers

Women's Ministry

In addition to the Women's Ministry Team, Gin plans and leads Bible studies and other events for the women of CCC. Being a "preacher's kid", Gin saw first hand the impact that small group Bible studies can have on the individual and the group as well. A South Carolina native, Gin moved to Chapel Hill to be close to her daughter and granddaughters. Gin thrives on encouraging others into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. She is outgoing, fun-loving, nature-inspired, fitness instructor who rarely allows dust to settle on her! First thing every morning will find Gin in quiet time studying God's word and listening to the sounds of nature.

Charmaine Berrian


Charmaine leads the hospitality ministry. She grew up in the military as the daughter of a Marine pilot and moved 18 times before graduating with her nursing degree from East Carolina University. She and Gregg have been married for 27 years. God has blessed them with three terrific kids! She loves her job as school nurse and her favorite hobbies are reading and enjoying her menagerie of dogs, cats and a bunny.


Rachel Matthews

Special Operations

Rachel leads CCC's operations. She coordinates events through out the year including Connection Celebration, Chatham Serves, Leadership Training, and Volunteer Appreciation. Rachel attended the University Of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is married to Mark and together they have two children.

Linda Sands

Finance Team 

Linda works as a veteranarian here in Chatham County. She is married to Steve and has two children. She plays on the worship team and is the liason between the Leadership Team and the Finance Team.

Steve Sands 


Steve handles most of our benevolence requests as well as a lot of logistics and serves on our Leadership Team. He is married to Linda and has two children.

Holly Anderson


Holly Anderson is married to her high school sweetheart, Jay. They have four children and six grandchildren, which makes for a logistical challenge to get all of them together! Holly has her Masters in Human Resource Management and when she is not teaching in Kenya or Chatham Church, she assists seniors with their personal business affairs.
