Matthew 18 | The Virtuous Cycle of Forgiveness  (Finding Forgiveness Series)

Unforgiveness gives power to the pain inflicted on us to shape our present and our future.

Forgiveness BREAKS the vicious cycle of sin and brokenness.

Two caveats:

1. Forgiveness and reconciliation are two different things
2. Forgiveness does not mean giving up on justice.

Forgiveness is not the same as Excusing.

What should we do to stop carrying the burden of unforgiveness in our hearts?

1. Ask God to show you a small slice of how much mercy you’ve received
2. Ask God to show you someone in your life where you’re still stuck on the math and God’s inviting you to pay forward his mercy
3. Count the cost of unforgiveness
