Wednesday, February 17

I’d like to welcome you to CD on the Go! and use today’s Connect Devotional to introduce and orient you to this enhanced format for Chatham Church’s daily devotional.

Our team of gifted writers will continue crafting a daily devotional that is keyed to our current sermon series and the Scripture passages that go with each week’s sermon.  The only change to the schedule is that we will provide these daily devotionals seven days a week, rather than Monday through Friday.

And we will offer them in audio format as well as text.  Our hope for the audio option is that it will allow you to listen “on the go” – as you’re out walking the dog, or jogging, or running errands in your car.  The content will be the same if you listen or read … or listen and read … or read, then listen.  Whatever works!

We want to be intentional in moving through the forty days between now and Easter Sunday.  We want to be particularly intentional about praying together, praying as a community.  We won’t (yet) be praying together in person or at the same time, but we hope that CD on the Go! will help us “get in harness” together in prayer.

We want to be listening to Scripture together, reflecting together on what we’re hearing, and praying what we’re hearing and learning into the life and ministry of our church.  If you’ve been a Connect Devotional reader, you know that each day’s devotional ends with a reflection or challenge of some kind: having read what we’ve written, how might God be calling you, calling us, to respond?

We’ll continue doing this, with a special focus on inviting us to pray together as we listen or read.  Whether you listen or read, or both, please take some time to engage with the “prayer prompts” provided at the end of each day’s devotional.  Pray for yourself, pray for us, pray for the world that God loves!  We’ll start doing that together in just a moment.

If you’re already a Connect Devotional reader, are there some people in your “circles of influence” who might also enjoy it and benefit from it?  Please invite them—remember, they are unlikely to discover it on their own!  Just forward this email to your friend and let them know that if they’d like to get CD on the GO! in their inbox each day, all they need do is hit the Subscribe button at the bottom of the email.

Thanks for joining us for CD on the Go!  Let’s begin this journey by praying together:

Lord Jesus, what is one thing you want to give to me during these next forty days?  To what do you want me to give my attention, what do you want to work on in my life?  I take a moment now to listen to you.

Lord Jesus, as we move together towards your cross and resurrection, what is one specific way you want to help our church learn how to Disagree Deeply, Love Deeper Still?

God our Father, how are you inviting me to become part of your answer to these our prayers?

Amen!  May the light and peace and love and life of Christ accompany you throughout this day!
