One thing I know

One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!
- from John 9:25

The religious leaders, the doubters and the haters kept on challenging the man who was born blind. Jesus had restored his sight, but these people peppered him with questions about the origin and mechanics of the miracle. The refused to believe.

They wouldn’t believe the evidence, even when it paraded in front of their very eyes. The miracle that Jesus performed didn’t fit into their pre-arranged categories and pre-approved channels. They discounted it and ignored it.

But the man who could now see couldn’t ignore the miracle. The miracle that gave him sight filled his vision. It was all he could see. And no amount of social pressure could make him recant his claims that Jesus had healed him.

The man didn’t know much about Jesus. He didn’t even know what Jesus looked like. But he knew that his life had been changed.

People can doubt your testimony but they can never take it away. When God does something special in your life your get a testimony on top of whatever else God has done for you. If you or someone you love is healed, you get a healing AND a story. If God comes through for you financially in a hard spot, you get the provision AND a story. If Jesus helps you forgive and reconcile, you get that relationship back AND a story.

What are your stories of God’s work in your life? Try writing it out using this formula: “I once was _______ but now _________.” Remembering those stories can keep us walking with Jesus in even the toughest of seasons.
