On any trip, it's always helpful to know where we're going. Over the course of most of 2024, the executive staff team and the leadership team ( made up of elders and deacons) worked together to craft a fresh expression of our mission, vision, and values for the next season.

The result was a series of goals and initiatives that have been prayerfully processed and discerned. All of them are simply building on what the Lord has been doing among us for the past number of years, declaring that we're going to be more intentional about organizing ourselves around the work of the Spirit among us.  Between January 2025 and December 2027, Chatham Community Church is going to be a "Force Multiplier for Kingdom Good."

Here's a visual overview of the vision:

Being a "Force Multiplier for Kingdom Good" centers on the work of the kingdom of God that Jesus came to usher in.

Jesus described the Kingdom of God as the place where we live under the reign and rule of Jesus. It's where we get to experience and demonstrate all his goodness, wisdom, love, power, grace, truth, and beauty to each other and to the world.

There are two categories of kingdom, we're focusing on both:

-Spiritual Good: the church is uniquely commissioned by the Lord to invite people into salvation (and working out that salvation) and into kingdom community.

Calling all of us into a relationship with the God who loves us and who saves us is and always will be the central work of CCC.

We're committed to learning the way of Jesus, walking in the power of the Spirit, living lives that are fully devoted to worship of the God who created and loves us.

All of that is something that only the church does and it’s what Jesus told us to do!

AND, of course, we’re committed to doing...

-Earthly Good: because earthly needs matter to Jesus.

Throughout the New Testament it’s clear that being a redeemed Jesus followers full of His life-giving Spirit, means that we’re going to do disproportionate earthly good to bless the people around us in concrete and specific ways.

We have three buckets for our Force Multiplier for Kingdom Good vision that correspond to our vision and mission statements:

  1. Connecting more people to God and to each other

    a. Sunday Morning Attendance: From 600 in the fall of 2024 to 1,000 by December of 2027

    b. Baptisms and Affirmations of Faith: 100 between Jan 2025 to Dec 2027

    c. Small groups: from 20 in September 2024 to 40 by December 2027

    d. Positioning for Organizational Fruitfulness

    1. Pittsboro: to be in a new facility by Dec 2027

    2. Siler City: work begun by Dec 2027

    3. Systems, structures, and staffing to support growth (hiring, organizational systems and platforms, volunteer recruiting and training, etc.)

  2. Developing more authentic followers of Jesus

    1. By December 2027 we will develop a calendar of courses, trainings, and experiences that create opportunities for growth for mature believers, new believers, and non-believers.

    2. Goal: every CCC attendee participates in at least one learning experience per year.

  3. Engaging our world for good

    1. More resources towards our ongoing work and increased impact through Chatham Serves (more partnerships, volunteers) and meeting local and regional needs (e.g. Hope for Western NC efforts).

    2. Continued creative partnerships to amplify non-profits good work. There are a number of non-profits that contribute kingdom good to our community, whether they know the King or not. For example, CORA food pantry serves the hungry better than we ever could. We want to get our non-profit partners in front of more people to hopefully garner new support, volunteers, etc. At our great party at the end of October, the Chatham Community Festival, and we invite our non-profit partners to come and host backyard carnival games as a way to connect with more people in the community.

    3. Parachurch ministry beachhead. A parachurch ministry is a ministry that comes alongside the church and specializes in a specific topic, area of ministry, or people group. For example, Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered ministry that only focuses on helping people battling addictions. There are hundreds of these across the country, very few in Chatham County. We want to bring more of these resources into Chatham County so that more discipleship and evangelism might happen here.
