So many Christmas movies have the "getting home for Christmas against all odds" plotline! This is resonant with the original point of Christmas. God made this world to be a place where he would make his home with us and where we would be at home with God. But once sin enters the picture, he’s not home with us anymore and we’re not at home with him.
