We Are Family: Philippians 1:7

4

"It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart and, whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me."

                                                                                                                 -Philippians 1:7

Notice as Paul is separated from the Philippians by hundreds of miles he has a deep sense of connection with them--they're family.

This is partly because Paul started the church. But the deeper reality that roots Paul's connection with the Philippians is that they "share in God's grace" together.

This reality continues to be true for all people who share that same grace today. All around the world, in almost every nation, tribe, tongue, people group and language, there are people who share in God's grace with us in this very moment.

How might having a global connection with God's family bolster your own faith and encourage you today?

Would you take a moment now to pray for your brothers and sisters in Christ around the globe, particularly those who are being persecuted for their faith?

Because I am on FB and Twitter and one other site, I have had conversations with people around the world about faith and God. I have posted bible verses and have taken advantage of the social media. I talk to people I know and some I have never met. It is amazing how Christians bond!

Amen, Lana--I got that email and that situation has been on my heart a great deal the past two weeks. Praying for fellow brothers and sisters (and their children) who are being severely persecuted for their faith in Syria and Iraq particularly.

Last week a CCC friend forwarded a prayer request from a city in northern Iraq where many Christians were being killed by ISIS. The evil was overwhelming to contemplate. So I contemplated how God dealt with evil. Jesus died so there
could be heart-level change. I prayed then for the perpetrators to be convicted, to be made new. When I opened to Matthew where I had been reading in The
Message, 12:21 said this: "Before you know it, His justice will triumph, the mere sound of His name will signal hope, even among far-off unbelievers." I'm going with that. And, of course, praying for the protection of our brothers and sisters in the midst of the horrors.

Amen....there is strength in numbers....we serve Father better together than apart, and we have one another for encouragement.

All praise and glory to Jesus!
