Thirsty

"Let anyone who is thirsty ..."
... anyone who feels empty
... anyone who who looks at life and sees something missing
... anyone who's been exhausted by the hard, hot work of following God

"Let anyone who is thirsty come to me ..."
... to Jesus Christ our Lord
... to the One who gives life
... to the Savior who loves us and died for us and defeated death

"Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink." Don't ignore your thirst. Don't write it off as selfishness or weakness. That thirst is a sign that there exists out there - in Jesus - something to quench your thirst.

"Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them." - John 7:37-38

Not just water, but living water. Water that is alive and gives life. Not that stale, tastes-like-the-bottle-it-came-in stuff. Living water. And not just a trickle of it. Rivers and rivers and rivers of it. Abundance. Plenty. Enough living water for you and everyone downstream from you. That's what the Scriptures say will flow from within you if you believe in Jesus.

Take some time today to pray through these verses. Ask God to give you rivers of living water flowing from within you. Ask God to help you believe. Tell him you're thirsty and ask him to give you something to drink. Thank him for his generosity and his willingness to quench our thirst for life. Praise him for his abundant, living water. Confess the ways you've given up on your thirst or gone searching for other fountains. Ask him to draw you back and fill you up today.
