The Pathmaker

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,

    and he will make your paths straight.
- Proverbs 3:5-6

The Lord cares about how we live our lives. He isn’t absent from us.

He speaks to us every time we sit in submission to the Word. If we’re willing to listen and read with open hearts we find application after application. The Lord doesn’t just deliver information; he gives transformation.

He guides us through our community. People who care about us and who are in relationship with us because God has blessed us with them … they will share with us their learnings from their hard experiences, failures, and challenges. And if we submit to the Lord, we can learn from our friends. We can discover the humility and courage we need to learn.

And he nudges us personally, privately, in the quiet corners of our hearts. The Lord whispers to us via our conscience. The Holy Spirit shines the light ahead of you as you walk. But we have to learn to recognize the Lord’s voice.

What will you do today to create space for the Lord to make your paths straight? How can you listen to his Word? How can you learn from the community the Lord has given you? How might you submit to the quiet nudges the Spirit is working in your heart?
