The Joy of Partnership

In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now …
- Philippians 1:4-5

At first glance, Paul looks like a wild missionary, wandering dusty roads and planting churches and building a new movement. Maybe he’s a great man. If we were part of his community, we might watch and cheer. But Paul isn’t looking for an audience.

In the kingdom of God, there are no spectators. We become partners. We become partners together with Paul and with each other and, most importantly, with God.

Partnership brings joy. It did for Paul. It does for us. Joy fills our prayers and our hearts and spills out from our faces as we go to the places God sends us with the people he gives us.

One of the things we love about serving is the way it opens doors for us to partner with each other, with local schools and non-profits, and with God. There’s a deep joy that fills our hearts when we serve together.

Where have you experienced true, joy-filled partnership in the gospel? How has that played out in your life?
