In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus …

We’ve been looking for the last several weeks at how it is that Jesus empowers us to make a difference in the world … one domino at a time. We can change the world together with Jesus. And as we change the world together with Jesus we’re changed. Did you catch that?
 
When writing to his friends in Philippi, Paul challenges them to purse relationships of radical service. And, as he does that, he points to Jesus as an example.
 
We can sometimes be a little hesitant to point to Jesus as an example for us because, let’s face it, we’re not Jesus! He doesn’t share our sinfulness or the limitations that stem from it. He is much more loving than we are. We’re not going to be able match Jesus stride for stride.
 
But the example Jesus gives us lands in the midst of God’s empowering work in our lives. His Spirit steers us. We can cooperate with him more energetically and enthusiastically when we know where he’s leading us. And the Spirit is leading us to have the same mindset as Christ Jesus.
