Sunday Morning Schedule
Special Summer Schedule...
During the Summer months, we will offer a modified children's schedule. Our Children's Small Groups that normally meet from 9:45-10:45 will be taking a break. Children from age 3 - those entering first grade will attend the beginning of worship service, and then will be invited to our Kids Community, which for the Summer months will include an age-appropriate Bible Lesson and other activities. Older children are encouraged to attend the worship service. Nursery is provided for children 2 and under.
Core Values for Next Generation Ministry
When you bring your child to Chatham Community Church, you can expect...
Caring relationships as the context for learning: Our teachers and assistants show they care and God cares by being there every week. We consciously work to help children care about each other, too.
Biblically-based learning: Children learn about the full sweep of God's redeeming love for humanity from creation to Revelation. We strive to have lessons that are engaging and that include age appropriate activities, crafts, or games in a way that delights children and enhances their learning. We use many creative vehicles for conveying truth. The children have a wonderful time!
Prayer: Children connecting with God in prayer is a vital part of our classroom experience. Children learn to pray, and they learn to pray together.
Appreciation of the uniqueness of students and teachers: No two teachers are alike, no two students are alike and no two classrooms are exactly alike either. We affirm and celebrate differences by:
- getting to know students and what is happening in their lives.
- using a variety of teaching methods so that children with visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles all find points of connection in the lesson.
- using their own gifts and sensitivity to the Spirit's leading, our teachers create different classroom flavors, all rock solid.
Consistency: Children need boundaries to feel secure and to learn. Our rules can be summed up in one word, Respect: respect for God, respect for teachers, respect for each other, and respect for property. A secure, respectful environment lets us enjoy learning!
