Jeff Lawrence - Lead Pastor
Jeff grew up in Edmond, Oklahoma, with his younger brother and sister. He began to trust Jesus as a child in Vacation Bible School at Henderson Hills Baptist Church, where his parents still attend and serve.
At Baylor University in Waco, Texas, he majored in Literature while also serving in Bible clubs for inner-city kids and leading several men’s Bible studies. During his college years, Jeff made life-long friends with several men that are now known as the “Fandango” guys (they still get together each year). After graduation, Jeff spent a year in Denton, TX studying in Pastor Tommy Nelson’s Discipleship Program.
In 1994, Jeff married Nan Monroe, whom he met at Baylor. Jeff and Nan attended Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS) together. Nan graduated with a Masters Degree in Biblical Counseling, and Jeff completed a Masters Degree in Theology. Along the way, he completed internships at Dallas Theological Seminary and Lake Pointe Baptist Church.
In 2000, Jeff began work towards a PhD in Theology at DTS while working part-time as Men’s Minister at Northwest Bible Church. Within a few months, Jeff shifted into a new role as Minister of Equipping.
In addition to his other ministries, Jeff enjoyed co-founding and editing a Christian Literature and Arts Journal called “Communiqué,” and he still enjoys writing both fiction and non-fiction when time allows. Jeff has served overseas multiple times, primarily training pastors in India and the Ukraine.
Jeff and Nan have enjoyed more than 13 years of marriage and are the proud parents of three boys – Mike (5), Luke (5) and Jake (2).
Jeff was called as Lead Pastor of Chatham Community Church in September, 2007.
